    v4 for 3.8 style (3.8 vBulletin style)

    updated style 11-07-09 @ 6:50am us central .. .
style has the psds we used to make this style

    v4 for 3.8.4 style for vBulletin 3.8

a style that resembles the new vBulletin style at vBulletin Community Forum .
    - did what we did, some things are different and could be changed, other are possible but a lot more editing - would need a lot of editing for any other language except english.

we will continue to make changes to keep updating the style.
-> xmls will be posted from time to time. (when we feel is needed)
a "change log" will be done to allow easy changes to the style to get it closer - if you wish -

the width is set to be at 970 -- can be changed in the bottom block of the main css, code blocks may/ will need to be changed also. (next post)

links will be here shortly as we get the changes for the plug ins posted
vbseo templates, members who have visited 3-8-00 and vba-cms-3-0-1
    [v4 for 3.8] - Blog templates v2.0.2

there are 2 xmls' provided. the one in the folder "xml-Blog-vba" is downloaded from this site.
found it had blog, vBseo, vBa and a couple of other templates for mods.
if you use it and have extra templates they can be reverted to delete them.
will include blog templates in the "change log"

let us know "Post" any errors problems or changes you would like to see or have added to the work list, style.
(if they are just for your site ask in the "General Discussions / Support" forum)

    - - install instructions can be found : style install into vBulletin

ie6 - may or may not like this style - i dont' have a copy or will i get one, too big of a security risk along with "way out of date" is a png fix that may help to fix problems, currently marked out in the bottom of the main css.
could say that we are no longer going to support ie6, will try from what i see but -no promises-

this archives change log begins here .. .PLEASE post problems or errors in this thread with the style.

started another thread for changes that you wish

    updated style 11-07-09 @ 6:50am us central .. .
style has the psds we used to make this style
will update to the "newer" images in a day or two - are not finished yet - in this post, not on the style itself

Re: v4 for 3.8 style (3.8 vBulletin style)

changing the style width .. .

we made the forms as wide as we could : since the style is fixed .. .

can do these in any order - i would set the width first then make changes to the form block widths .. .
the forum or forum and blog are done the same

    changing the main width :

main css very bottom block of the additional css, near the top find:
    Code:
You must be registered and logged in to view code.
change the 970px to what you wish the style to be at.. .
100% 80% or in pixles : 770px 1270px - pixel widths will add a bottom scroll bar if the browser is not wide enough for the set width.. .

in the stylevars for the style these settings should be changed to make the forms and elements a size that will not push the style in the narrowest width (800x600) - look for the style to start shifting out into the margins, distorting the style
    - thats the limit there -
-> if any one does this it would be nice and appreciated if you post it for others
(to make it easy and you not change your screen resolution can just set the header width at 770px)

    for the forum :
    • Form Width (pixels)
(This value specifies the width in pixels of most forms in the vBulletin interface)
    • User Control Panel Form Width (pixels)
(This value allows you to specify a smaller form width, to compensate for the presence of the navigation bar in the user control panel pages)
    • Message Area Width (pixels)
(This value allows you to specify the width in pixels of the text box used for all message posting in vBulletin)
    • User Control Panel Message Area Width (pixels)
(This value represents the width in pixels of the message area in user control panel pages)
if you have the blog installed : a few more to do :
    • Blog Form Width (pixels)
(This value allows you to specify a form width suitable for panels located in the blog, compensating for the screen real estate occupied by the blog sidebar.)
    • Blog Code Block Width (pixels)
This value controls the width of [code], [php] and [html] bbcode blocks in blog entries and blog comments. The value specified here is designed to work best with a fixed-width style. Alter it carefully if you must.
    • Blog Message Area Width (pixels)
(This value represents the width in pixels of the message area in blog pages)

attached an image of the original settings .. .

the home page , forum and blog are images -- a right and left side to each .. .
can it be made to look like a buttom and not a tab ?
    yes --

would need 2 images for each state - current, hover and normal
    edit the css

BTW. are you going to do the profile like VB4? I know you did part of it but it would be nice to use the background images and gradient effect on the table just like vb4. I think you might need to create another table with the background image and put those tables inside of it

anyway you can show me how I can change the way the forum home look? I need to change the way they have it with the forum category tables being separated instead of all the forum categories and forums all be on one table.

By the way thanks a lot for the style. I am using it on my forum right now and it looks great. This might actually stop me from upgrading to vb4 since the style was the only thing I liked

for anybody that has multiple instant messaging, like yahoo, aol, etc etc not all will not display correctly in showthread. In your additional css look for this
    .pb_name_col { float:left; width:150px; margin-$stylevar[right]:6px; overflow:hidden; }
in bold text change the width size
