Default Re: Firefox / IE difference

this is the vB default template , we havent messed with it

before it use to be in a table.

problem with letting it not letting it be able to wrap --

long user names, a date would cause that col to become pretty wide. vBs' default for user names is kinda high - the date - well its not the shortest thing either .. .

on a larger screen resolution it may not be a problem, get the 800x screen and it can/ may cause troubles - as its area could easy take almost 1/2 of the availabe space leaving little for the forum area and discriptions.

had ( kinda lost it ) in one style we moved it under the forum titles --
one skin now we moved the post counts under them .
will be doing one with the last post under them soon.
other skin sites do have this ( forget off hand which ).

know opera and fire fox behave the same : ie -- always is and probaly will be different than the rest -- css and a lot of other things display differently in ie and all the fixes are for them
( even though they do some things i belive a better way - this is one of them )

posted a different way - in a table -- will keep everything in line.

depending - on a split forum set up -- almost all of out styles - the last col may not stay in line - the same size as another section -

solution : make a new image 1px tall and how ever wide the widest one is.
name it :"_lastpostspacer.gif": upload it into the misc directory of the style all of the last post cols will be that size.

we used this to try and keep everything in line -- depending on a persons settings it may not always work - one of the problems with a split forum set up .

if its' not right - dont' like it -- can just revert the template to the vB default.
( replace the spacer with the original one if you changed it )

presently this tempate is being used in the vBdefault style here -- for a whyle

in the admin cp -> styles and templates -> in the template group "Forum home templates" :
replace the forumhome_lastpostby with this one :
