I'm back and have a run down of my trip. We have 6 on our list since the final descision on the buy out won't be made until the 17th of July and any one of our list can go under contract before we get to it. Anyway, here is the list with links to pictures. Liz
Liz' househunting trip:
This is how we ended up.
First choice:

It's in Saluda,
NC, a VERY small town. 2000 census put
it at 575 people.

Second choice:
http://western-nc.carolina-idx.com/d...&mls_in=337011
This one is in
Hendersonville, NC off Hwy 64 heading
toward what is refered to as Apple Valley and Bat
Cave. Also near the Lake Lure area. It's a newer
house. Since the owner was on hand, I didn't take
pictures.
Third choice:

402 South Shamrock Landrum SC
29356
$118,000 We really liked this one but it also has
inherent problems that come with OLD houses so it is
third on the list. Plus it is in daddy's backyard just
about. Also no pictures here since the owner was home.
This one is dirt cheap compared to the rest but would
require the most work.
Fourth choice:

Peak Street was
my first choice originally until dh
found problems in the basement with the pipes and we
find problems with the wiring. Plus there was another
couple looking at this one a second time so it may be
off the market by the time we get approved anyway.

Fifth choice:

Lockhart in Tryon
has some really interesting
features. The big problem is nothing has been updated
since it was built in 1950. Also there is a musty odor
in the basement. Whether that can be gotten rid of or
not is a guess but I suspect so since I didn't spot
any mold.

Sixth choice:

204 Johnson St
Landrum SC 29356
$169,000
This one was really nice but had a few problems. Also
the lot looked like it had been bombed. And for about
the same price, we can have lots of trees in Saluda.
