Being a moderator myself, I try to keep an open mind about things such as this. I respect others' opinions on matters and I try not to insult.
But if I'm in this certain situation, I usually tend to not let insults slide -- I've a real bad habit of playing the "Vocal Martyr" routine (
long story) and letting them know that they haven't presented any facts to back up their opinion while insulting them back ("fighting fire with fire" as its called) even
worse than what they've thrown at me.
This is situational though, depending on my mood. If I'm in a good mood, I usually just PM a staff member and
try to discuss it like mature adults. If I'm in a really
bad mood, I skip the PM and just flame like crazy.
*shrugs* Again, it's situational. I'm not stating that losing one's cool is the right thing to do.. sometimes there really is
no control over it.
I just
can't stand ego-tripping. One of my "major psychotic f-ing hatreds" as George Carlin calls it.
