Rep Power: 21 @ 155 ![]() ![]() | Kinda interesting to know the reasons behind the move. I'm the owner of a joomla/phpbb site before I moved away from it and to vba/vb now. The biggest problem for me is that there is no joomla styles that blends perfectly with the forum styles. That's apparently is the same problem with gfx now. I will watch this closely and see what santai has up his sleeves I have to admit that the vba front has limitation on how you can make it look good. Everywhere I go, all the site have the same 2/3 column styles, blocks... If Santai can make custom joomla style that fits perfectly with the forum style, I would be all over it For some of the best joomla designs, I would recommend Joomla Templates = RocketTheme Joomla Templates Club Demo Site I have used them for sometimes and extremely impressed with their design. Just wish that can be incoperated into the forum design. Did you QuantNet today ? quantnet (v) : to read, post, reply to a topic on Quantnet.org. | 3ts' | yes we are - need more, a better way to organize things. styles and support for the forum, loosing a lot of mods and things we dont' use. have more content to add - graphics, templates for - sites - other graphics which can help build a site. rocket themes - got a few from some place ?? had a quick lesson in how to use the templates Joomla has - not hard at all .Found one site that has a some using different options, have a couple of them installed to play and learn. know the site can be wrapped, and keep the Joomla header, footer and side bar. if we didnt' need to have a complete board - header and footer - available here for the styles i could and would use vB this way, only a style or styles that are compatible with the colors that are used in Joomla could be made/ used ;; the bridge they have works so the log in is solved.. . have 3 things to finish here before i get more into getting the 2 to work together - adding the articles and all -- getting rid of the stock 2 or 3 col look is not to hard with Joomla, just re arrange the location of the blocks - or are different lay outs for different things now. have another license for vB -- may use it as a demo board for the styles, and set this up with Joomla as a wrapper for vB, could even do it for one style here to let people see how the 2 look this way. Like and enjoy working with different projects and options with vB. right now we do styles for vB - but integration with other software is always another thing to add. matching the 2 together for one style is possible, just need to know which - vB or Joomla style too use for a base. more than one style -- know this could be done, just a style chooser would need to be written to sync the 2 - added link : Joomla - Joomla Components, Modules, iJoomla Magazine V 2.0 am looking at something like this for articles, the news one thay have is not bad either ![]() ![]() insanity leaves you no restrictions ! // support is available via the forums, post the apparent discrepancy or help needed . \\ donations appreciated Last edited by Santai; March 17th, 2007 at 02:35 AM. Rep Power: 21 @ 155 ![]() ![]() | I used joomla for a year so I know what you are talking. What version of joomla you using ? 1.1.12 ? Why not 1.5 ? I thought about how you would blend the joomla and vb together. if you look at the Rocketthemes demo i posted, I like the Bentobox style. You can put the forum in a wrapper without the header and footer. Use the Frontpage Slideshow. What software you use to bridge the login ? If you putup the Bentobox and vb on the demo site, I'd love to see. What would you more comfortable doing ? changing vb style to match joomla or changing joomla to match vb style ? Can you use the width chooser to change the width of the joomla front as well ? I still have joomla installed on my site...take a look before the move Online Financial Engineering Community Did you QuantNet today ? quantnet (v) : to read, post, reply to a topic on Quantnet.org. | 3ts' | 1.5 is still in beta 1 - they are doing it right and dont' think to see a stable production release untill ?? - reading would guess 60 days if not more. they have a converter so nothing will be lost when the upGrade is done. the options on that are great after reading it -- better than what i have there and for what will be needed soon - will look into this and probably use it, changed to match what we need ![]() would say we will start on it and can watch it grow ![]() a break from what we are doing, should be done with all but one next week -- think we all need some play time the width , using the forum wrapper style would be controlled thru Joomla -- seen it done -- a wide and fixed styles together .. . using this -- thought kinda expensive but it works, the first time -- and upGrades .. .vBulletin Duo-Sync Bridge CB | ElearningForce either way - think a good Joomla style is easier to move into vB for me right now untill i learn how to do it the other way. have always like to take from and give too they use a lot of css and all and vBulletin dont -- am learning quick .. . -- will see how this rocket thing looks -- will pm you a link to it later .. .
