That might be it!! If he isn't cookied to auto-login his browser might be reloading, looking like a guest on the Whosonline!

Oh hey, wait a minute... couldn't that be bad? Like is that why you look online for HOURS here, but kind of aren't?
That might prove more of a bandwidth concern down the road than FF if lots of members did that.

opera is very good at keeping track of changed files and seems to down load what it needs - the page itself -

here its between 30 and 70k each time .

use hellcats page compressor from vB .org - check out the source and you can see what it does .

will post the link for you with everything else in a little whyle .. .

I have 4 windows open, 3 on pages that are not static (whosonline/index/frontpage) and have them refreshing EVERY 15 seconds.

There is definitely an increase in bandwidth usage, but not that much considering I've had it running nearly 24hours...

okay I've concluded I don't care for Opera much. Lots of potential, but...


1) Alt-S for posting don't work for me.

2) It just acts weird sometimes - loads funny, or can't find server that FF can at the same moment...

3) The cache fails and only partially loads a page. Then clearing the cache is a pain in the Arse...




However, the auto reload feature is pretty cool.

I can't stand Opera. Its working with chats and much scripted forums are awful, so I use Firefox2 , and sometimes use IEview, to open tabs with IE engine.
