Photoshop has already built a very big name for itself, despite its (in my opinion) ridiculous prices. However, a very good competitor is starting to become more popular, called "Gimp." Gimp is actually free, so there won't be a bunch of people needing to pirate it like some do for photoshop. |

Rep Power: 25 @ 66 ![]() | This Pixel looks almost exactly the same as PS. And I hate to break it to him, but no one will even compare the two until he raises his price. A lot of people buy PS simply because it is the most expensive and they therefore think it is "the best" when it might not be for their needs and interests. Humans are funny that way. PS does provide the most advanced editting and designing, but a beginning person who merely wants to edit some of his digital camera's photos would be betetr off with a free program like Picasa from Google. |

Rep Power: 26 @ 66 ![]() | No doubt about that, but the benifits of PS are all the aftermarket products that support it that may not work with other software. Of course a lot of programs now seem to support PS plugins and filters so that are is getting grayer. |
