Let's say that you were a good member at a forum. Everything is fine until one day a mod at the forum disagrees with you about the topic of a certain thread. You do your homework on the topic, and being openminded, you research it from both angles before posting. The mod again disagrees with you, stating their opinion while presenting no facts. You reply and this time the mod actually insults you, trying to make you look like a know-it-all. Since you have thoroughly researched this thread topic and the facts are on your side, you let the mods insults slide, hoping that others will see this mod for what they are... immature.

A few weeks go buy and everything is fine until one day the same mod suddenly pops into another thread that you're in for one reason, and for one reason only, to harass and to insult you again! You know that the other mods will just 'cover' for this mod, and the admin will probably just do the same.

Now keep in mind that you actually like this forum (minus this mod who's stalking you). What would you do?

I'd contact the administration and talk to them about it - give them a chance, so to speak. If that doesn't work I'd speak to other people I know on the forum and gain their insight onto the situation.

It's a hard situation but one I've come across before. Sometime the administration will surprise you.

From what I know about the admin I think this would be fruitless, plus I actually have lost a lot of respect for the site because of this whole affair. Anytime a mod openly attacks and insults a member, especially when the member has done nothing wrong, it's a sign of bad management in my opionion. I've been reading a lot of bad things about the site the last few months, but didn't want to believe it. I certainly do now

I've never seen a admin that's ever reprimanded a mod for stalking and mistreating a member. My guess is they'll just side with the mod and I'll be banned there before the end of the day

Well just to be clear when I said 'admin' I didn't mean you as an admin (mod). I meant the main admin. Hope there's no misunderstanding about that

There's really not much to PM you about, and you probably shouldn't get involved since you have to work with this loose cannon (you have my condolences ). This other mod appears to have a real ego problem. There's not much you can do with someone like that. You certainly can't reason with someone like that, or use any kind of logic with them or they'll just lash out at you (which he's already done twice today). In their mind they are always right and you are always wrong. You could tell them that the sun is hot, and they'd find an excuse to twist it around to look false. Anyway I think I may have answered my own question Since it wouldn't be possible to reason with the mod, saying anything else to them would just give them an excuse to lash out more. It used to be a good site. It even used to be a fun site that I've financially donated to, but sadly I guess what I've heard about the site these past few months wasn't just a rumor

Anyway, good luck there, but I simply don't need the stress or the grief, and I certainly don't need a mod with a 'chip' on his shoulder stalking me

Actually I am very much a proper admin on the site and I'm the one who deals with these kind of issues. I don't allow the kind of thing you're talking about to continue once I know about it and nor does the main admin If you give me the information, believe me, it will be dealt with.


There's been a lot of talk about the site by a lot of people - it's not really something I can get into via public forum, but there is a lot of things going on. Please pm me with the post links and the person in question and I promise you I will deal with it. Contrary to what you might have been told, we don't allow staff to ride roughshod over members - we've removed some from their staff positions for that very reason.

Oh, well then in that case you should love all the insults that he throws around, including where he tells me what he thinks I need to do to "get laid a lot more often" and he spouts to me that "you're a pain in the ass" It wouldn't be so bad if he didn't deliberately post the thread just to make those kinds of comments

Since you're discussing this in public, is it okay to take guesses at which site you're talking about because for me, I've had it with ****, I won't likely be going back there. Warnings for making a joke when everyone and their brother is doing it, no thanks, don't care for the ego tripping that goes on there and the insulting and so forth. Nevermind the gay bashing, that site needs an enema.
