This particular one would only be in one place, not as a signature tag to all my posts in lots of forums. This one would reside on my home page only. I would make modified versions to go in forum signature blocks. The original tutorial had it 400x 350 and this one is 400 x 250. I KNEW the original was too big. Liz |

Actually, where I have it, you CAN see it http://family.southerngazebo.com/liz2.html I'm not even using it on my forum. As to how I did it, here is the tutorial: http://www.designsbyjoy.net/Designer...ation/Rays.htm I plan on putting it on a graphics site some day. Liz |

Oh, I see, you're using Animation Shop, I misunderstood then. I see now how you used it and it makes perfect sense there. I used to have a program that applied that effect automatically, I'm not sure if it was part of Cool3D or something else but I don't know where the program is anymore. It was espescially nice for using in things you wanted to look like movie logos. I've always liked that animated backlight effect. |

I have never used the program that you are describing, I have only animated stuff like this in ImageReady. You probably want to make it look like the spotlight is continuous. As it is right now I can tell exactly when the repeat starts. You might want to fix that. |

Considering 1) I don't have ImageReady 2) this was my first attempt at backlighting 3) in the current file there is no blank one so if it is jumpy, it's the settings and I haven't YET figured those out, see reason #2. And 4) I thought I did pretty good for someone who had NEVER done this before and is not 20 years old. Here is another version, I THINK I have a better handle on the settings now. It's still a tad JUMPY but since I don't have Image Ready, I guess I'll have to work with what I do have. Liz ![]() |
